Gilmore Girls Ep 3

Writer's picture: LeiLei

It's been so long since I have watched this show. Dinner at the Gilmore's home is awkward as ever with the conversation on staff turnover in the home. They don't know the names of any of these people... Yikes. Luckily, school is a subject that is brought up. Rory needs to pick a school team activity because this is a crazy school. Golf is a sport that Richard (grandpa) plays well. Lorelai doesn't want to force Rory into playing with Richard at the "club" but Emily insists and twists it into happening.

At the Inn, a double wedding for twins that can't get along is getting set up. The brides and the grooms are both a set of twins. Madness. Richard is throwing a fit about golfing with a teenager and Emily threatens him to get his crap together to ensure that their grandchild enjoys herself or he will receive hell. Let's just say that the golf lessons started off on a bumpy road.

Sookie is having an issue with lack of strawberries and the twin brides are arguing over soup or salad. Spoiled children bother me. Richard and Rory found a topic that they both enjoy, travel and business. There's a spark between them as they talk about all the possibilities of the subject. Rory experiences her first steam room. Gossiping women is like high school. Richard's steam experience allows him to brag about his intelligent and beautiful grandmother. The two spill tea during lunch from the gossip they acquired during the steam time.

Who has ever ordered twenty swans for a wedding? I could never. Lorelai can't believe that Rory enjoyed herself at the club. "REALLY" couldn't believe that she had fun. Daddy issues are apparent here. The fact that Richard calls the inn the next day to Rory, has Lorelai feeling some kinda way. Considering that he never calls for Lorelai, I kinda understand why she is hurt but she didn't have to act like a jealous child with her child. It makes no sense for her to act that way. Lorelai and Sookie discuss Lorelai's jealousy and the possiblity that Rory may want the country clubhouse life. She needs to figure it out.

The wedding goes without a hitch. Except the fight between mother and daughter. Lorelai finally apologizes for behavior and explains how she was raised which Rory understands. The two kiss and makeup. Friday dinner begins on a rocky road with Lorelai bringing blueberry shortcake from the wedding. Not a big fan. After small talk, Emily and Richard go off with Rory as Lorelai is left with a glass of wine alone. I think I actually feel sad for her.
