Being Mary Jane ep. 6

Mary and Andre make a big jump by moving in together while his place of choice is being fixed up. They are cute as he makes the comittment to take out the trash and have Mary post her sign off post its all over the place even though she tried to hide them. Quite honestly, they are a cute couple. Paul has to scramble to get Helen the platinum table for a charity event gala that is coming up but the person who is in his way to getting the table, wants him for a meal. Is he willing to do it? Catherine has balls.

Mary is put in a hard place when a good friend of hers, Terrance, is accused of some fabricated information on prisons and there is proof for it. Did I mention that she is interviewing him for her show? While Terrance is making strives towards the form of slavery that is the prison life. Instead of heling him out, Mary interviews his girflfriend that is holding the proof. She gets sick right after recording the show. Hard looking yourself in the mirror.

Paul Jr, is killing it in the corporate world and the drug world too. Mary's baby bro is in school and trying to make more money for himself. Money that his dad finds suspicious. Paul passes it off as if it is a student loan. He got lucky this time.

At the gala, Helen is doing her best to keep up with appearances for the sake of it all. The family has a moment of awkward conversations between Mary's newest show segment and David, a guy she once dated. Helen makes an announcement about hoping that David will marry into the family soon. Mary is confronted by a viewer who accuses her of bringing down another black man. It's amazing how many times black women get accused of this. This man finds it appropriate to grab her arm several of times to continue the conversation. Catherine makes a move on Paul in front of Helen. That is exactly how he paid for the platinum table. He dances with Catherine until Helen cuts in. Speaking of dancing, David and Mary take the time to do so but David ruins it all by letting Mary know that he is seeing someone and it is heading somewhere fast.

I was rooting for David. I thought he would be good for her. At home, Andre is up waiting for her but Mary can't say much as she is mourning the love of David. Andre makes a promise that he will be there with her the next year. I would love to see that happen.
